I’ll be honest with you… My ex-boss and I were just talking about this today. We worked at Kay Jewelers together for 3 years and know that it would be pretty easy to start a business, the main obstacle would be building rapport for your business and gaining respect so that people trust you and your products.

We talked about buying jewelry from Bidz.com or Ebay and reselling it for higher. Some of the things on Biz are things we had at Kays and they sold for less than OUR COST on Bidz. Something that is $30 on Bidz would be sold in a high end jewelry store for $279. You could make quite a profit this way.

Also, take advantage of such a terrible economy. Although it’s sad, so many jewelers are going out of business because jewelry is a luxury, not a neccessity and no one can afford it. There are so many closeout sales!! Also sooo many people are selling their jewelry to make their bills on time. Check out pawn shops (this jewelry can always be cleaned up and repaired to look completely new), craigslist, Bidz, Ebay…. This is the time to do it!! Good luck to you!!
